Best of Waikaremoana and Tongariro Hiking Tour

Experience the highlights of the North Island's famous great walks - the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and the Lake Waikaremoana Track. Spend 2 or 3 nights in each location at our specially selected lodges, and enjoy the best hikes with your experienced local guide.

Includes all meals, accommodation and return transport to either Rotorua or Taupo.

Waikaremoana Family Hiking Tours

3-4 days

Catering specifically for families this trip involves a series of short walks and activities in Waikaremoana, with the option of spending a night at a back-country bush hut.

An easy and safe way to introduce children to the joys of hiking and the great outdoors.

Waikaremoana Great Walk – Upgrade with Lodge Accommodation

4 days

This is a very popular option for groups. Staying in an old local lodge we complete most of the Lake Waikaremoana Great Walk Track by using our boat to reach different sections each day. Return to the lodge each evening for a hot shower and hearty dinner. Twin-share rooms.

There is also the opportunity to visit other special areas of Waikaremoana not usually seen from the Great Walk, and to meet with a Tuhoe elder for an informal discussion on the fascinating and often controversial history of the area at a local marae.

Waikaremoana Fishing & Hiking Tours

Make use of our purpose built boat to explore the beautiful and pristine Lake Waikaremoana. Hike through dense native rainforest in the most diverse botanical region of New Zealand. Spectacular geological formations, abundant birdlife (kiwi, kaka, kereru, tui etc), rich history, and opportunities for fly and spin trout fishing, kayaking and swimming make this a unique New Zealand wilderness experience. Bay of Plenty Hiking and Sightseeing Tours

Hike in a pristine podocarp forest, thick with our native giants totara, rimu and matai trees. Experience Rotorua's unique geothermal hot spots by climbing a volcanic crater and walking through a valley filled with boiling mud, erupting geysers, crater lakes and silica terraces.

Stay in B&B accommodation in the laid-back seaside village of Whakatane and undertake the award-winning boat cruise and hike on White Island active volcano. Another day is spent on a superb loop track - featuring pa sites of major historic significance, superb native forest, spectacular pohutukawa stands, unsurpassed coastal views, seabird colonies, forest birds, plantation forest and rural vistas. This trip provides a good contrast between New Zealand's lush native forests, stark volcanic forces and pristine Pacific coastline.
