Walking Legends is run by Robert and Hilary, New Zealanders who are keen to share their love of the New Zealand outdoors and wilderness with visitors to New Zealand.
Having majored in conservation and ecology, Hilary pursued her love of the outdoors, leaving office life behind her, to lead guided walks on the Routeburn and Greenstone Tracks, based in Queenstown on New Zealand's South Island. On a a guided walk, she met Rob. Rob had also been guiding walkers on the Routeburn and Greenstone Tracks and had focussed on outdoor activities throughout New Zealand and overseas, including sailing, volcano guiding and leading guided walks in Italy.
Their experience of tramping (as New Zealanders often call hiking) and guided walks in the New Zealand wilderness led them to return to the Bay of Plenty, where they both grew up with Te Urewera National Park as their playground.
