Rotorua Day Walks

Rotorua Day Walks

Rotorua day walks offer a great way for visitors to get a taste (and smell!) of this unique region. Located in the Bay of Plenty region in New Zealand's North Island, Rotorua is a small district of about 53,000 people, of whom about half are Maori.

Rotorua is known for its:

  • spouting geyers and boiling mud pools
  • warm geothermal springs
  • Maori culture, maraes and hangi (a traditional feast)
  • fishing, spa treatments and of course, walking

Rotorua Day Walk

Walking Legends offer a guided 1 day walk featuring New Zealand's tallest trees, rivers and rainforest, birdlife and some of Rotorua's special geothermal area, including a swim in a natural hot spring.
