Guided Hikes New Zealand - Urewera Discovery Tour

The Urewera Discovery Tour was definitely the highlight of my trip to New Zealand. The country is spectacular and we wouldn't have found it on our own. Rob and Hilary were professional, competent guides as well as thoroughly enjoyable company.

Their knowledge of the area and enthusiasm for sharing it added immeasurably to the experience. The trip was not too strenuous but provided adequate time for walking, swimming, beautiful sights and of course, cups of tea. I would recommend this journey for anyone interested in New Zealand 's incredible wilderness areas.

Guided Hikes New Zealand - Online Access

Finding Walking Legends online was perfect! It provided an easily organized and unique experience for 3 days of discovery in a remote and wild area of New Zealand.

Walking Legends guides, Rob and Hilary, emailed us lists of essentials, and answered questions we had before our exhilarating walk into the dense and beautiful subtropical forests of Te Urewera National Park. Overnight arrangements were made for us before, during and after our walk, and all meals, including snacks were provided.

We were delighted with the level of professionalism, the vast knowledge of the area, and how personable our guides were. We had a fabulous experience in a most rare and untouched part of the world.

I recommend this guiding company, giving them high marks for attention to detail, planning, providing for the comfort of their guests, and flexibility to adapt to what the situation called for.

The view from our bedroom window was spectacular, and the welcome, the service and the food were as good as they get. The walks you chose were varied, full of interesting and beautiful things to see, and just right for our level of fitness.

We really appreciated the way in which you were attentive to our preferences and willing to change plans at short notice to accommodate them. We have very happy memories of walking among blue lakes and white waterfalls, ancient forests and volcanic mountains while listening to Rob's tales of ancient times.
